MgA. Vladimír Kiseljov

An interdisciplinary artist, 31 years old, focussing on painting, wallpaintings, scenography, direction, performance and art therapy. When creating, he merges music, colours and a motion of the Spirit in space. With his work he captures a stream of energy flowing from his personal understanding and experience of music and various mythologies, fairy-tales and symbolism. He strives to positively influence society and to bring energetic spiritual impulses into the everyday life in his vicinity. That is why he often creates and exhibits his art in public places, either in the form of murals, performances or  exhibitions of his paintings. 30 years old, a graduate from SŠUŘ Brno and JAMU Brno, he had more than 70 independent exhibitions of paintings (e.g. Galerie kritiků in Prague, International Exhibition of Contemporary Art in Florence Biennale 2009, in Leipzig 2011, in Zadar, Croatia and at the international exhibition of modern art in Piešťany, Slovakia in 2011, 2013 and 2014 in Leipzig, Vienna, Berlin, Bayreuth, Geneva, Edinburgh, Florence etc.) and 8 large murals painted live in front of the audience with music as a performance (e.g. at Faculty of Arts at Masaryk University Brno, Galerie Kritiků Prague, Vila Settemerli Florence, Edinburgh etc.).

From 2013 he cooperates with Filharmony Brno and from 2014 with Pilsen Filharmony. Twice he exhibited in famous Wannieck Gallery (Richard Adam Gallery) in Brno (2013 a 2015 on VIP ball „Ples jako Brno“), where he twice did his live painting performance on music too In 2014 he painted live twice online in Czech Television shows (10.10. Tečka páteční noci and 21.11. Dobré ráno).

His paintings are inspired by classical music (R. Wagner, L. Janáček, N. Rimsky-Korsakov, L. Beethoven, A. Bruckner, T. Tallis, J. S. Bach etc.). For the past four years he has organized and led workshops - Art therapy - painting with music and archetypes (also with Dance in 5 rhythms with Raduca Vojáčková) - in Brno and Prague (KJM Brno, Janáček Theatre, Vyškov Library, Prague etc.). Since 2010 he has also painted live at concerts of old music “Music delicacies” in Brno (Petr and Paul’s Cathedral), Vienna and Prague, where he collaborated with excellent musicians such as Hansjörg Albrecht, Jaroslav Svěcený, Krste Badarovski, Zuzana Michlerová, Zsuzsi Tóth, Raphaël Collignon and Nathalie Houtman, Christian Gutiérrez, Lauren Armishaw, Sarrah L. Ridy, Barbora Sojková, Hana Blažíková, Jan Čižmář, Petr Kolař, Michael Bártek, Lukáš Pelc. In 2013 he published book with his paintings „Mysteries of Richard Wagner in paintings“.

In 2008 he staged and directed a Brno premiere of the 5-hour-long Parsifal by Richard Wagner in Reduta National Theatre Brno, while also working as a dramatic advisor and scenographer. In 2013 he staged and directed a very successful world premiere of an opera/musical “Song of Songs” by Petr Jiříček in Smetanův dům in Litomyšl; again he was a scenographer and also the author of costumes, projections and choreography. After it was played in Brno, Hradec Králové, Kuks, Červený Kostelec etc. As a scenographer he created mise-en-scene for an opera by Joseph Haydn The World On the Moon, Tartuffe by Moliére, several of his independent artistic scenic performances with music of the 4thmovement of the 9th symphony by A. Bruckner etc. Since 2012 he has presented the project of Wagner’s “Ring” transcribed for the organ (Michael Bártek) with a projection of his paintings and live painting. It was premiered in Strasbourg, next concerts in 2013 in Leipzig, Nikolaikirche, Strasbourg, Brno Besední dům, Ostrava. In 2015 it will be in Weimar, Freiburg etc. In 2015 he will have a premiere of Opera „Babel“, where he did a libretto, stage design and stage direction with projections - in Stuttgart and Brno. Music is by Zuzana Michlerová.

He is the president of the Richard Wagner Society in Brno; he received a scholarship for Wagner Bayreuth Festspiele (2004) and for Kunstuniverstaet Graz (2006/2007), he represented Brno at the international expert Wagner congresses in Dresden (2009) and in Stralsund (2010), in Wroclaw (2011), Prague (2012) Leipzig (2013) and Graz (2014).

In 2014 came up new book of Martin Fryč „Současné umění očima Martina Fryče“, (Contemporary Art through eyes of Martin Fryč“) where Kiseljov is representatively presented by text and photos of his works.
